July 2009 - The Picnic when Eric proposed

Ok, this one is for you Mikey, you wanted more details so I will give you some more. But don't be expecting anything too exciting because this is me. :P

The first time that I recall actually speaking to Eric was on a Sunday after church during a Break the Fast. I had returned to the K-town area one year after my mission to live with Crystal and Andy as a nanny for Sydnee. I sat with all the YSA's and Eric asked how long I had been home from my mission, he said that he wanted to make sure I wasn't still weird. I think I replied with something to the effect of I was weird before. We may have been introduced before this but neither of us can remember it. Once I got a car in Germany I was at the Outreach Center several times a week and as Eric was the YSA Council President we saw each other quite a bit. I was there for nine months and Eric never took the opportunity to ask me out. Once, he told me it was because he was waiting for the right moment and other times he has told me that he was going to but I disappeared before he got the chance. I always reply with the fact I was there for nine months which was plenty of time. :P Anyway, Andy deployed and Crystal found out she was pregnant with Ashlyn so she decided to return to Utah while Andy was gone. I returned to Utah in August 2007 and heard from Eric a few times until October when he apparently decided that he didn't want to talk to me anymore. It took me months to forget about him. :P I had moved on with my life until August 2008 when he randomly posted a comment on my Facebook Wall asking how I was doing and about my torrid love affairs. Obviously, I replied with him not knowing me very well because I have never had any love affairs but I could make something exciting up if he wanted stories like that. This started the exchange of fairly regular contact. And the rest is already in the other post. :P
Technically, we weren't engaged until July 7, 2009, however we had already set a date and begun planning.

Wedding Invites and Engagement Pictures

After consulting my mom and Jill, Eric and I have decided that this will be the wedding announcement. My good friend, Katie Jones is the photographer and did an amazing job with the pictures and the invites.

Ok, so I have been terrible about updating my blog, Sorry! I am getting married to Eric Roylance on August 13 in Washington State. I know, most of you didn't know that I was dating anyone. :) So, here is the story of Lisa and Eric according to me.....the story may have some variation when told by Eric. :P

Eric and I met in 2007 while we were both living in Kaiserslautern, Germany, fondly referred to by military personnel as K-town. I was there living with my sister, Crystal and her husband Andy, as a nanny for their infant daughter Sydnee. Eric was living with his parents. In K-town they have a Center for YSA's which is similar to an Institute. We saw each other pretty regularly the time while I was in Germany. In August of 2007, I returned to Utah and Eric remained in Germany. We had minimal contact through email until August 2008 when we started talking more regularly. In January of 2009 I made a quick visit to Ellensburg where he was living, receiving his teaching certificate, on my way to Seattle to pick up Crystal and her two girls. Eric and I began daily communication and would talk on the phone almost weekly. My mom would tease me on Saturdays that it was Eric's day to call. :) At the end of May I again went to Washington to visit Eric in hopes of clarifying what our relationship status was. Which brings us to our current status. :) I guess you could say that I got clarification on the situation!

So, that is the story of Eric and Lisa, I hope that helps with the curiousity of all. Sorry I don't have any pictures of the two of us together. I completely forgot to take out my camera when I was in Washington visiting last month.

Yes, I am still alive :)

So, I have been MIA for a bit but not to worry, I am still alive and reasonably well! :) I will make a more detailed update later.....I just didn't want anyone to get concerned as it has been nearly six months since I last posted! :) Love you all...

Another Attempt at Homesickness

It has become a family tradition that we go snowmobiling on New Years Day. There is some good snow out there and for the most part it was a gorgeous ride! Although it was a bit windy and extremely windy in some spots also towards the end of our ride it started to snow.....the more snow the better!! :) No casualties this time and no one got stuck, of course there wasn't that much snow to get stuck in but you know Dad, he could get stuck in anything! :)

Ah, I hit a pedestrian!! :) Jill was standing next to mom's sled when I pulled up so I got as close as I could, don't worry I didn't really hit her she just does a great job of making it look like it!
