Dana has posted the "German is an angry language" video. If you want to see crazy, nutty, sleep deprived Lisa, you can check it out at danacheryl.blogspot.com. I did mention sleep deprived?? The story behind this saying is that in the MTC one of the Elders was frustrated with German and asked if he had said something correctly. I happened to say that it was close but something was wrong and he said, while holding a pen, "I wish this pen were a javelin and I'd jab it in your eye!" I personally thought it was hilarious!! So, obviously, the saying stayed with me and towards the end of my mission at a Zone Meeting, one of the Elders was getting on my nerves so I borrowed the saying. My Zone Leader quickly reprimanded me with, "Nur Deutsch, Sister Holmes." Me, being a little stubborn, quickly translated the sentence and said it before I realized what I was doing......I know that the translation is not correct but Dana and Trisha thought that it was hilarious and thus the video. I must say the video is pretty amusing. :)

I had to go to St. George today to deposit money in my AF account so I decided to go to a session at the Temple. I love the peace I feel as soon as I enter the Temple, it's absolutely amazing! I also love the clarity that comes while I'm there. Firstly, that I am a daughter of God and that He loves me. He wants to see me do well and to be happy and He knows what will make me happy. And when I am ready for it. I feel it so strongly in the Temple. I also realized at the Temple today that there are some things that I need to take care of in order to truly move forward. I think that I've known for a while that I needed to do it, I just didn't really want to. But I know that I have to.

Dana is on my case to update my blog, so I'm updating....happy Dana??:)
I had a really good day at work today. It was a little slow so we were talking about languages and I said that I spoke German, which started a conversation about Germany. Maybe an hour later we got a call from a man in......Germany!! Molly answered the phone and while entering his address remembered that I speak German so she gave the phone to me and I talked with Jakob for 30-40 minutes!! It was fun to speak German, of course I am rusty and forgot some of the silliest words but it went well and he understood what I was trying to explain!!
This past weekend I went home for some family reunions, it was a lot of fun to see family again. I haven't seen some of them from the Holmes side in a few years so that was a lot of fun and it seems that some of them I don't even remember ever meeting! Hopefully we will be able to do that one every year so that we can see each other at least once a year. The Wells' are always lots of fun! And my cousin Alicia was able to make it with her adorable family. They just had their fourth child and she is a cutie! Alicia is blonde and fair and her husband, Aaron is brunette and dark and their four children alternate. Aaron says that it is funny when he takes Joquie out because people don't think that she belongs to him. Alicia says that people have asked her if they adopted...:) They have very polite adorable children. I forgot to take my camera up with me but I hope to have my family send me some of the pictures they took.
All in all, things in Cedar City are going well. Don't worry, Dana will ensure that I update my blog frequently!:) Love you Dana!

I AM EMPLOYED!!!:)

After having been unemployed for a month, I finally have a job. I will begin work on Monday, 11. August, at Uri International as a Data Entry/ Customer Service Representative. I have researched the company online and am excited to begin working for them. It is a company that began here in Cedar City about 7 years ago. They were recently established as a Corporation and it is in the works to begin selling in Australia and other countries. If you want to know more about them you can go to their website: www.uriinternational.com. After I talked with Liz from Uri, I sent Jill a text message and then I said a prayer of gratitude. I am so grateful to my Father in Heaven for knowing what is best for me and teaching me patience. He knows what I need and what I can handle. I am also grateful for the peace that he gives when I am unsure of my future. And tomorrow I get to see my family. Saturday is Maggie B.'s wedding, I get to go to the Temple and be present while she is sealed for Eternity. It is a very good week for me!

Selling my Material Possessions....

I have been without a job for nearly a month now and have deemed it necessary to sell some of my things in order to pay bills. For those of you who know me well, you know how much I love DVD's. Well, I have listed several of my DVD's on half.com and am selling them, so far I have sold three. I also sold a Calculus book, having made enough to make half of my car payment! :) Halfway is better than none at all! And this morning I came to the realization that it is time to part with my first car, a 1973 Volkswagen Beetle. (I think only my family knows how much that decision cost me!) My intention was to restore my Beetle completely and take it car shows, however it has been sitting in my parents garage for several years and today I decided that it deserves to be owned by someone who is actually going to fix it.

I still don't have a job but I had a really good interview on Tuesday with an amazing company that I think I would enjoy working for. The company recently went International and so there may be an opportunity in the future to go to Germany.....Ok, I may be wishing for that, it was never said! I had a good feeling about the interview and will hopefully hear about that tomorrow or Friday. They told me to call if I hadn't heard from them by Friday and so I shall because I really would like to work for that company. I ran this evening and am actually feeling a little better about running the half marathon in September. I think that at the end of this month I will run 11 miles to be sure I can handle it.

Monday, Monday

Well, I still don't have an actual job yet.......hopefully soon!! Because if I don't get a job soon I will be forced to apply at .......fast food restaurants......:(
In other news, Dana bought the Breaking Dawn book on Friday Night/Saturday Morning and then told me that I could read it because she was going to bed! Honestly, what was she thinking, I did not need to stay up all night because once I started I could not stop! And I tried to skip so that I could find out what happened in the end so I could go to sleep but it just didn't work out...... I don't know why I do this to myself! I loved how Stephenie Meyer kept me guessing, although I will admit there were some parts where I did get a little bored.
I made Apfel Struedel today! Ich freue mich dass es geklappt hat! It turned out well actually, maybe I do have a knack for baking after all! Of course then I remember my quarktaschen...... maybe that didn't work out because I am using a German recipe in America....:) Probably not the case. Delicious Apfel Struedel for me! Of course, it reminded me of my grandma and then made me long to return to live in Germany. I like visiting Utah but I must admit that Germany definitely feels more like home, I miss it so much! Dana told me the other day that I need to marry a German and today, I whole heartedly agree.....but I don't think that I am going to find one in Cedar City, UT. Man weisst nie!
